Open cell ceilings blend with design aesthetics

The open cell ceiling system offers the flexibility to cover large spaces while preserving an element of design intrigue. A standout characteristic of this design is its capacity to harmonize with various architectural styles.

This ceiling solution is particularly suitable for public environments such as airports, shopping malls, recreational facilities, and commercial offices, as it supports efficient airflow management and swift smoke extraction, essential for high-traffic locations. Its distinctive and visually appealing nature is contributing to its growing popularity.

Material: steel or aluminium?

The initial perception of an open cell ceiling often revolves around the presence of a continuous pattern of "cube" shapes, free from any visible suspension elements. Consequently, the finished ceiling resembles a flawless waffle design. Cube or cell dimensions can range from 50mm to 300mm, with standard blade widths typically at 15mm, although some manufacturers may offer a 9mm option.

Additionally, there are open cell ceiling designs that feature a linear pattern. This linearity is achieved through the arrangement of longitudinal blades in parallel. When viewed along the blades, the cross-members remain hidden, resulting in a clean and straightforward ceiling aesthetic, particularly suitable for elongated spaces.

Historically, most suppliers have provided open cell ceilings using traditional T-grid systems, with a few developing integrated carrier solutions. However, a common issue arises when panels are removed for maintenance, leading to misalignment and displacement from their original positions. To address these concerns, some manufacturers have introduced innovative fixing systems, including a specialized U-shaped carrier that ensures precise alignment during installation. Each type of open cell ceiling maintains a consistent appearance, while the new carrier system offers the significant benefit of allowing individual panels to be hinged down independently.

The choice of metal is an important factor, as open cell systems can be constructed from either steel or aluminum. Steel, being more robust than aluminum, is less prone to damage during shipping, handling, or accidents. Additionally, steel is often favored for its performance in fire safety. Conversely, aluminum is significantly lighter and naturally resistant to rust, making it easier to handle and potentially eliminating the need for a rigid suspension system.

Very professional and good experience. Very patient towards the work by Rauf. He organized the workers very well and monitored everything to ensure timely delivery. Keep up the good work.

TrueCeiling did a very good job. We had very less time for the full house painting. They showed many wall painting designs options and completed the painting work in 12 days.

Got False ceiling from them and the True Ceiling team and Rauf managing the project were very professional. Very happy and satisfied with them
